    • Bessie Polsgroves' mother died from complications with the child birth of Bessie in 1888. Bessie was so small at birth that they carried her around in a pillow. There is eighteen years difference in her and the closest sister. When Bessie wanted to marry "Skip" Payton her family disowned her. They seem to have come around because we have pictures of her and her sisters.
